Fairlady History

If you are at all interested, this link will take you to the Datsun Fairlady Wikipedia page. The Fairlady was first manufactured in 1959 and ended production in 1970.

Datsun Fairlady - Wikipedia

Our Fairlady is a 1968 1600 SPL311 and appears to have mostly OEM parts. The previous owner purchased most of the parts he needed from Rallye in Washington state.

Anyhow, check out the history.

Our Roadster

This is the 1968 Roadster 1600.

Traveling in a Roadster

This blog is all about our travels in the Pacific Northwest in our 1968 Datsun Roadster 1600.

It has been rainy and cold the last few weeks but we have a number of weekend trips planned that will be posted on this site along with where visited what was good about the trip and places to eat and sites to see.

If you are a fan of the Datsun Roadster or just a fan of weekend road trips then this is the blog to visit.

If you are a Roadster owner and have a passion for driving and road trips than contact me via the link on the right side of the page. I am looking for contributors to this blog who can commit to posting once in awhile.

Welcome to the Blog!

We purchased our first Datsun Roadster 1600 in 2010. It was a non-operational hulk of a car in REALLY bad shape. Of course it still is in pretty much the same condition that it was in when we bought it.

We had a reality check when it came down to fixing it up and the time commitment. I work full time and am a PhD student. So, like many folks out there, the time we thought we had available to work on the car somehow evaporated!

We love the look of the Roadster and how it handles and rides. I have a new appreciation for the classic cars, they were truly works of art and craftsmanship. So we bought another Roadster that is functioning and in pretty good shape this March.

We have put over a 1000 miles on it so far and have had a few issues. I will talk about those in later postings.
